Tranquility in the Presence of Others (1972) : An aging colonel retires, marries a provincial teacher, and moves to Tehran to be close to his two adult daughters. Instead of a peaceful reunion, he finds them living independent, urban lives he no longer recognizes. As the cultural and generational rift deepens, the family enters a tense, psychological spiral of alienation and emotional unrest.
